The Chaplains Commission has made available tens of thousands of camouflage bandanas, with the Psalms 91 scripture written on each one, to Church of God Chaplains and their ministry to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. The following testimony by Alexis McClellan, Louisville, KY, about the power of God’s witness through this bandana ministry and how it affected her military son and her family, was received at the Chaplains Commission last week. It is a powerful witness of ministry “outside the gates” and how the little things we do become so awesome in the Hands of our Creator God. “…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these…you did for me.”

Sundance Channel to Release Documentary About Life of Jesus

Sundance Channel has scheduled a Christmas week premiere for Paul Davids’ documentary Jesus in India, which examines controversial theories and legends that place a traveling Jesus Christ in India. Written, directed and produced by Davids, the film will debut as part of the Channel’s regular Monday DOCday programming on Monday, December 22nd at 9:00pm et/pt.

Operation Compassion Receives Water Purification Grant

Operation Compassion recently received a $2 million grant from World Emergency Relief for water purification units. This grant was provided as a national grant to assist rural areas in areas where the water has been polluted by industry, natural disasters or build up of silt and debris. In particular, the areas of Appalachia and the Indian Reservations of the west will be prominent recipients of these units.

We recently had the privilege of preaching and teaching in two churches, one of them was a 98 % deaf and mute constituency. What a blessing to worship the Lord with people who are so limited by their physical condition, but they so desperately want to express their love to God.

Mac & Jeans Day

Monday, November 3, 2008 was “Mac & Jeans Day” at Cleveland (Tenn.) High School. Hundreds of students participated in this charitable “food-raiser” to benefit the Tyler H. Carver Children’s Home in Guyana, South America.
