Empowered21 Canada Cabinet is Announced; Canadian History in the Making

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada– A prominent group of Canadian Christian leaders has been selected to form the Empowered21 Canada cabinet and they have announced their preliminary focus. Empowered21 Canada, a unique, history making movement, will assist in focusing select Spirit-filled, Christian leaders, next gen voices and leading scholars who will be representative of voices from across Canada on the future of Spirit-empowered Christianity.

David Wells, General Superintendent of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (www.paoc.org) and Chair of the Empowered21 Canada cabinet, said, “I have been enthused to be involved in the formation of ‘Empowered21 Canada’ – a coalition of Spirit-filled ministries in Canada linked to similar networks worldwide. The diverse group of leaders who have joined me in the E21 Canada cabinet have done so because this means of linking Pentecostal/Charismatic organizational leaders, scholars and Next Gen leaders nationally is needed in Canada and the focus of E21 “Holy Spirit Empowerment for the 21st Century” is a priority.”

Billy Wilson, Executive Director for the International Center for Spiritual Renewal (www.icfsr.org) and Empowered21 (www.empowered21.com) and Chair of the E21 USA cabinet, said, “Empowered21 Canada is an exciting initiative to connect Pentecostal and Charismatic leaders across the nation together for the future. I am very pleased with the Cabinet that is forming and that David Wells and Rick Ciramiato will be serving as chair and vice-chair for this effort. We are expecting great things in Canada.”

Some of the purposes of Empowered21 Canada will be to unite the Spirit-filled movement across Canada in an intergenerational gathering for the purpose of seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the 21st Century. They also desire to provide a platform for addressing the critical issues facing the Spirit-empowered church in Canada in the 21st Century and discover contemporary methods, vocabulary and ministry grace needed for engaging new generations in Spirit-empowered living. They will focus on the energy and resources of the Spirit-empowered Canadian church, on the harvest and challenges before them with a desire to witness greater convergence and collaboration of Spirit-empowered ministries across Canada.

“We want to encourage every Spirit-filled ministry across Canada to connect with Empowered21 Canada in the days ahead. Together we can realize a future that includes revival, transformation and empowerment for new generations,” Wilson concluded.

Empowered21 Canada is one of 10 global initiatives taking place over the next three years that will involve the Spirit-filled world in focusing on the future and engaging new generations in the power of the Holy Spirit.
