Christ’s Birthday Offering 2007

When a visit to the war-ravaged African nation of Liberia revealed that most of the 65 pastors who had survived the dreadful 15-year civil war were not only suffering hunger and lack, but that almost all of them had taken war orphans—from two to seven children each—into their homes, World Missions was able to make a grant equivalent to four months’ salary to each pastor.

Smiling faces were our reward.

Where does money for such unbudgeted but vitally necessary expenditures come from? Each year at Christmas, World Missions asks Church of God families to add Christ to their gift list and send an offering in the amount of the year (this year, $20.07), which is gathered with other gifts and set aside for emergency and unforeseen missions-related needs.

A war ravages a nation, a missionary parent dies back in the States, a hurricane devastates an island, a national leader requires emergency surgery, a missionary child must be medically evacuated for hospitalization—in cases like these, Christ’s Birthday Offering provides critically needed help.

Those whose hearts are touched by such needs can send contributions to Church of God World Missions, Attn: Christ’s Birthday Offering, P.O. Box 8016, Cleveland, Tennessee 37320-8016 or donate using a credit card with the secure Donate Online feature of this Web site.
