The Excitement of Salvation
I was recently invited to preach at an evangelistic meeting in a Gypsy church. When I arrived the pastor told me God was doing wonderful things. The night before, five people had accepted Christ. I was excited and hoped that God would be with us again.
I preached for an hour and could sense the presence of the Lord. When I asked if anyone wanted to accept Jesus, about 16 or 17 hands went up (there were about 100 people there).
I asked those who raised their hands to stand up (something that is unusual in Romania). Eleven people stood to their feet. The pastor of the church prayed for them, and I led them in a sinners’ prayer. It was a special moment. Heaven was rejoicing; the church was rejoicing; and if you could have seen the faces of the people who accepted Christ, you would understand that something real happened. What an awesome God!
