‘If 7:14’ Prayer Campaign Makes National Call for Prayer, Repentance

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad has signed a proclamation calling for prayer around the country to begin on Monday.

The date, July 14, is now tied to a familiar healing Scripture and a national prayer campaign called “If 7:14.”

Second Chronicles 7:14 reads, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The prayer campaign urges Christians to set the alarms on their cell phones to go off at 7:14 every morning and evening. The alarms serve as a reminder to pray twice daily for national revival.

Organizers of the “7:14” campaign offer the following suggestions on how you can participate in the call to prayer:
◦Set aside time to pray.
Even if you have to work, take a moment to bow your head and pray through 2 Chronicles 7:14.
◦Fast.
Choosing to abstain from something like food and taking the time to pray instead can be a wonderful spiritual exercise.

◦Worship.
Spend time in worship however you choose. Sing, listen to music, or read your Bible.

◦Watch the live stream.
From 7:14 a.m. to 7:14 p.m., Christians are gathering at the Iowa Capitol to worship, praise, pray, and repent.
