Care Ministries Partners in Latin American Leadership Summit
Last month a special dinner was hosted by the Pentecostal Theological Seminary and Dr. Oliver McMahan, for the Latin American Executive Committee and the Bishops of the Hispanic regions in the U.S. Also in attendance was leadership from the World Missions department, Dr. Tim Hill and Reverend John Childers. During the evening, Dr. Donnie Smith, executive administrator of the Care Ministries division, presented a check for $50,000 to Dr. David Ramirez in support of the Latin American Leadership Summit.
The Division of Care, along with Church of God World Missions, and the Latin American Executive Committee, will sponsor the first-ever Latin American Leadership Summit on April 22-26, 2013 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Care Ministries is pleased to be a supporting partner in this seminal event. The theme for this summit, Word, Spirit, and Community: Vision 20/20-6R, speaks to the overall purpose of the meeting—
To analyze, reflect and plan, as one body, how best to execute the Vision 20/20-6R, in all of its strategic aspects so as to be able to mobilize the Latin American Church for its ministry in the task entrusted to it.
There will be an expected 1,500 participants from all the countries of Latin America, in addition to others who will be attending from Europe, Africa, Asia, Hispanic Caribbean and the USA. The Division of Care Ministries will be involved in the workshop and plenary sessions, as well as helping to sponsor a select group of Hispanic leaders to attend the summit, that otherwise would not be able to attend.
The focus of this conference will be to send a message that the Church of God has an intentional mission/vision to reach the world for Jesus Christ, in addition to providing partnerships that will positively impact global leadership.
