Jakarta, Indonesia – For a second day, believers from all over Asia gathered at the Sentul International Convention Center in Jakarta for the Empowered21 Asia Regional Congress. Themed FIRE & GLORY, the four-day event is designed to strengthen and encourage believers as they seek a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
With a population of 21.2 million people, Mexico City maintains the distinction of the largest city in the Western Hemisphere. A prime location for Church of God World missions’ Send the Light to the Cities emphasis, the converts and students trained at a proposed center will have a strategic stance on the people of Mexico City.
Members of the Church of God Doctrine and Polity (D&P) Committee have released companion papers on a contemporary cultural topic. The papers are intended to be read together and are entitled, “Same Sex Marriage: A Biblical Perspective,” and ”Same Sex Marriage: What Is the Christian Response.”
The Church of God International Executive Committee has appointed Bishop Mitch Corder as the Executive Administrator of the Division of Care. Corder, who is currently serving as administrative bishop for the Church of God in Tennessee, will begin his new role next month following the completion of 16 years of tenured leadership as a state administrative bishop.
The Church of God in Kigali, Rwanda wants to turn the city into one that will shine before East Africa through a training center so others will see the Light of the world. As one of the cities of focus in the World Missions SL2C project, Kigali is a prime location to evangelize and make disciples.
Children and young people will have programs structured to their age groups during the upcoming 77th Church of God International General Assembly July 31 – August 3, 2018 in Orlando, Florida.
