More than 125 Gospel for Asia Compassion Services missionaries and volunteers are on the scene in Bangladesh, reaching out to people affected by Cyclone Sidr. They are distributing food, blankets and other emergency supplies to those affected by the storm.
Last Friday 700 people gathered for the National Media Prayer Breakfast at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., to pray for the end of the two-week writers’ strike that has halted production on many Hollywood studios, reported the Associated Press (AP).
ChristiaNet.com, the world’s largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, recently asked, “Do you pray at least one hour a week?” ChristiaNet’s president, Bill Cooper, stated, “Christians should communicate with the Lord through daily prayer.” Most surveyed said they prayed well over one hour.
This week, the Church of God Chaplains Commission shipped 286 bulk boxes of Little Debbie brownies to Iraq and Afghanistan. The Little Debbie holiday project began with donations from local churches during the July 4th “God and Country” celebration.
