Cleveland, TN–On Easter Sunday April 12, 2020, Bradley County, Tennessee was hit by four tornadoes ranging from EF1-EF3 between 11 pm and midnight. The next morning, April 14, Cleveland, Tenn. Mayor Kevin Brooks called Teddie Bennett, Men and Women of Action Administrative Director, to see if MWOA could help coordinate a tornado relief distribution center at the Community Hall Church in Cleveland. The Bradley County Sheriff’s Command Post was set up at this location as well.

Pastors representing over 3,000 California churches and around 2.5 million people will hold a News Conference on Thursday, May 7, at 1:00 p.m. in San Bernardino County to Announce Churches Reopening.

One North Carolina pastor, who has preached at revivals for more than 70 years, says God told him to pray for a spiritual awakening in America.

As America observes the National Day of Prayer across the U.S. on Thursday, May 7, organizations and groups, including the Church of God, are offering an observance as well.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual national observance established in public law in 1952 and observed publicly on the First Thursday in May. Regardless of the unprecedented challenges that our nation faces today due to the corona crisis and resulting economic shutdown, it will not be canceled nor postponed – but will look very different from years past.

Americans living in their comfortable suburbs are quick to scold people for not staying indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic. We work from home on our expensive laptops, buy our essential items on Amazon, order in pizza and wear designer masks—and then condemn people who want to venture back to “nonessential jobs” because they can’t pay their rent.

Cleveland, TN—The Church of God International Offices (i.e. Headquarters), shut down since mid-March due to Covid-19, has announced a soft re-opening beginning the week of May 3-9, 2020.

We’ve all undoubtedly spent way too much time in front of our TVs since all this shelter-in-place stuff began more than a month ago. The good news, though, is there’s plenty of quality movies to watch.
