The prayer vigil will be held on Monday, September 10, at 8:00 P.M. The group will be praying for President Bush and congressional leadership as they weigh the recommendations put forward by General Petraeus in his report to Congress concerning the future of Iraq.

The 10th annual, nationwide “Scriptures in Schools Week” is scheduled for September 23-29. Christian students, teachers, and staff in public schools throughout America are encouraged to bring their Bibles to school.

In her latest book, Logged On and Tuned Out, Vicki Courtney highlights the basics, as well as the warnings, of instant messaging, text messaging, social networking sites, chat rooms, and photo and video posting. She says most of the technology is not a fad or a phase, but will continue to be a part of life. With this in mind, she encourages parents to be informed and pro-active when it comes to the new technology.

ChristiaNet.com, the world’s largest Christian Portal with twelve million monthly page loads, recently asked, “Is it Biblical for Christians to speak in tongues today?” ChristiaNet’s president, Bill Cooper, stated “Most Christians agree that an interpretation must follow if someone speaks in tongues.”

Hurricane Felix has now become a Tropical Depression and is slowly heading west and, hopefully soon, out of Honduras. The remaining threats are heavy rainfall and sudden rushes in the rivers from the mountainous areas, which could lead to severe flooding. Various communities in San Pedro Sula suffered some flooding, but for now everything is calm. 

Gospel Music Channel (GMC) will present A Day of Hope & Inspiration, 24-hours of commercial-free programming next Tuesday, September 11, to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country.
