Hurricane Felix Update
Hurricane Felix has now become a Tropical Depression and is slowly heading west and, hopefully soon, out of Honduras. The remaining threats are heavy rainfall and sudden rushes in the rivers from the mountainous areas, which could lead to severe flooding. Various communities in San Pedro Sula suffered some flooding, but for now everything is calm.
We are mainly keeping our eye on the rivers and praying they will not continue to swell. If the rivers do not rise any more there should be no problems. We at Hogar Esperanza are fine. We are a little wet and had a few hours without power, but everything else is fine. Thanks be to the Lord! Again, I appreciate each of you for your prayers and concerns. Please continue to lift us up. I will update you again if anything changes.
We are awaiting an update from Dr. Collins on the damage in the coastal regions of La Ceiba and the Bay Islands. Brother Zavala in Nicaragua says the entire Moskitia area has been completely leveled and the Church of God headquarters and churches are completely destroyed. He says the tidal surges were as high as 18 feet. Please keep us all in your prayers.
