Recently, our national church in Nicosia, Cyprus, celebrated its 14th anniversary. The Church of God now has more than 320 members in the island nation, and the new church building was standing room only for the celebration. 

In September of ’06, author Howie Gardner, Pastor of Bel Air Assembly of God in Maryland, composed a letter to the Muslim World league in Saudi Arabia. This past Sunday an estimated 100,000 believers joined together in 100 nations to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Sponsored by Eagles Wings ministry, the fifth annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem brought believers together during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur for prayer services, teleconferences and personal intercession.

Recent numbers shows US casualties at their lowest level in over a year and civilian deaths drop nearly 50% after Christian leaders held prayer vigils in Baghdad this summer.

Emergency assistance is needed to help people who are having displacement problems. At first, they were displaced by civil war insurgencies. Now they have been displaced by floods. They need help in resettling their homes. Currently, we have received reports that about 10 churches have been destroyed and some of them had just been resettled after the war.

Today the NRB Network announced plans to air a new program developed by “Joni and Friends”. The program will be hosted by Joni Eareckson Tada and will communicate the gospel and equip Christ-honoring churches worldwide to evangelize and disciple people affected by disabilities. “Joni and Friends” will air Fridays at 7:00pm (ET) starting October 19th, 2007.
