I was recently invited to go to a local village where there is a house church. This is the ideal opportunity for missions. We went many kilometers outside the city to the little village of Ratotcie. Valeriia was at home with the baby, so I went without a translator. This added a unique, yet wonderful dynamic.

I was overwhelmed when I learned that Pastor Eli Awile—a man in his late 60s who co-founded the Church of God in Sudan—and Jacob, a school teacher, were sent to this unreached area.

Rev. F. John Colbaugh, senior pastor of the Lawrenceville, Georgia, Church of God, passed away early on the morning of July 18, 2008 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Brother Colbaugh had served the Church of God as a former state overseer of Kansas (1990-94), pastor, and was a member of numerous boards and committees.
