The University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles was awarded a $6.9 million grant this week to establish a Pentecostal and charismatic research center in the birthplace city of American Pentecostalism.Pentecostal and charismatic Christianity is one of the world’s fastest growing religious movements.

Lee University was recently listed on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with distinction by the Corporation for National and Community Service for the third consecutive year.

We saw many people saved, healed and delivered. Churches were planted and an organization established. Pastors and leaders were raised up to continue in the vision. On top of this, we were privileged to see a regional revival among the Gypsy people in Slovakia!

Veteran healing-evangelist Oral Roberts said the university he founded is headed in the right direction under the leadership of board chair Mart Green and his family, whose $70 million gift last year helped save the school from near-financial ruin.

MOSCOW, Russia — The visiting team from the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association (EAAA), recently completed a two-day visit to the Eurasian Theological Seminary, a Church of God institution in Moscow. The EAAA informed us that they will be recommending to their General Council in June that ETSM be accredited for its Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor in Pastoral Ministry programs. It is a real milestone for the school to have this official recognition of accreditation from the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association.

A pro-life leader faces up to two years in prison and as much as $4,000 in fines for offering sidewalk counseling at an Oakland, Calif., abortion clinic. Pastor Walter B. Hoye, founder of the Issues4Life Foundation, is to be sentenced today after being found guilty on Jan. 15 of “unlawful approach” under an Oakland city ordinance that bars picketers from coming within eight feet of women entering an abortion clinic.

During the 2008 Christmas season Church of God missionaries Tommi and Poppi Smith were able to minister the joy of Jesus to more than 1,500 children, many from the slums of Jakarta, during several outreaches.
