Prayer for Corporal Mickey Weikel

When Corporal Mickey Weikel was assigned to the Marines in Okinawa, little did he realize that this would be a defining moment in his life. It was on this small Japanese island that God spoke to Marine CPL Wiekle and called him to the ministry of the Gospel of Christ.

After his one year tour was complete, he was then assigned to Security Battalion, Norfolk, VA, where he completed his tour with the Marines. God then opened the door for him to minister as the Associate Pastor at the Princeton, W.V. Church of God and begin his college degree.

In 2005 he resigned his associate pastorate and entered Lee University and graduated in 2007. This degree allowed him to follow the burning passion that had always been in his heart to be a Navy chaplain. The fall of 2007 allowed him to fulfill a dream as he was accepted into the M. Div. Chaplain Program at the Church of God Theological Seminary, Cleveland, Tennessee. This week, while he wife Nikki and son Trey looked on, the former Marine Corps Corporal, now Reverend Mickey Weikel, was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy Chaplain Officer Candidate Program. Ensign Weikel will attend Naval Officers Basic Course this summer in Newport, RI. The journey has begun for ministry “outside the gates.”
