Strategic Missional Leadership Conference Scheduled for April

The Church of God International Executive Committee has announced a major conference on prayer and church planting scheduled for April 7-9, 2011 at the North Cleveland Church of God.

The event replaces a district overseers meeting which was canceled in January due to a snow storm and has been merged with a conference on prayer already scheduled for that week.

The focus of the expanded meeting is reflected in the new name, Strategic Missional Leadership Conference—Engaging Prayer and Church Planting. The meeting has been described as, “a conference for Church of God leadership focusing on a missional mentality, strategic planning, and committed engagement with prayer and church planting.”

Most of the original speakers and presenters scheduled for the January gathering will be present, along with other special guests who will be giving special emphasis to prayer. Conference highlights include: complimentary registration; concentration on engagement with prayer and church planting; ten general sessions; 42 workshops centered on prayer and 36 workshops focused on church planting; video streaming of evening and closing sessions; and a great opportunity for leadership connection, networking, and commitment.

Guest speakers include Larry Stockstill, James O. Davis, Doug Small, Owen Weston, David Sobropena, Claude King, Michael Knight, John Maempa, Eliezer Bonilla, Beverly Pegues, Chris Blake, Phil Miglioratti, and a host of other presenters. During the closing session, General Overseer Raymond F. Culpepper will be sharing an important message concentrating on ministry covenant commitment. Members of the Executive Committee will serve as moderators and presenters.

Convening at the North Cleveland Church of God, the conference begins on Thursday, April 7 at 1:30 p.m. Plenary sessions on Thursday and Friday evening begin at 7:00 and are followed at 9:00 p.m. with a special prayer afterglow. Morning sessions on Friday and Saturday begin at 9:00 a.m.

More information and a detailed schedule is coming and will be released after March 1 on the Church of God Web site, www.churchofgod.org. Although registration is complimentary, delegates are strongly urged to pre-register to avoid possible delays at the conference. In addition to registration, there will be meal functions during the conference. Information on the meal events, as well as tickets for purchase, will also be available on the Web site.
