School of Ministry Reaches Enrollment Milestone

Over 18,000 ministers and laity have enrolled in the Certificate In Ministerial Studies (CIMS) since the beginning of the Church of God School of Ministry more than a decade ago.

According to Don Bennett with the School of Ministry, these students have “found the courses to be very helpful in gaining knowledge and skills for ministry. One lady remarked that she had always wanted to attend a Bible college, and the CIMS program fulfilled her dream. A pastor shared that his congregation commented that his preaching improved after he completed the CIMS course, Preaching the Word Today.”

The Certificate In Ministerial Studies consists of 20 courses, offering 35 credits. Of the 35 credits, 34 are required for the CIMS certificate. While CIMS is open to any qualified applicant, the program was designed for ministers who hold Church of God credentials or who have been set forth for ministry by a local church.

The CIMS program is available to help anyone become more effective in ministry. To find out more about CIMS go to the Web site at www.ministerialtraining.org or call 877-344-0488.

In a related announcement, the Ministerial Development/School of Ministry office, in effort to broaden the ministerial training experience, announced specializations in ministries will be offered in the popular Ministerial Internship Program (MIP). The specializations are (1) assistant pastor ministry, (2) chaplaincy, (3) children’s ministry, (4) Christian education ministry, (5) church planting, and (6) youth ministry. If applicants want to specialize in one of these ministries, they should contact the state MIP coordinator in their states.
