Texas Local Missions Rep Seminar Scheduled
CLEVELAND, Tenn. — The International World Missions leadership team is sponsoring three Local Missions Representative (LMR) Seminars in the state of Texas the first week of March. The LMR seminar is a meeting with our local church missions representatives and other missions-minded individuals, in which missions leaders explain the many ministries of World Missions and how the department functions.
The International World Missions leadership team is sponsoring three Local Missions Representative (LMR) Seminars in the state of Texas the first week of March. Below are the dates for these meetings:
1) March 5, 2009 – Thursday – Paris Church of God in Paris, Texas (Pastor Doug Holt). The meeting is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
2) March 6, 2009 – Friday – Longview (Rose Heights), Texas (Pastor Thomas Jackson). The meeting is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
3) March 7, 2009 – Saturday – Weatherford (Campground), Texas. The meeting is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Complimentary lunch will be provided.
The LMR seminar is a meeting with our local church missions representatives and other missions-minded individuals, in which missions leaders explain the many ministries of World Missions and how the department functions. Those who attend this seminar leave with a greater understanding of the entire work of Church of God World Missions and the needs of our missionaries and various ministry projects.
The LMR is appointed by his or her pastor to represent the local church in missions interest and he or she works with the Pastor to promote missions in their congregation.
At these meetings, you will hear from each individual World Missions leader regarding the work of the LMR. Items covered include:
• Reaching the Unreached People Groups
• Duties and responsibilities of the LMR
• Missions videos & website
• World Missions accounting procedure
• Education and publications
All pastors, along with anyone else interested in missions in the Texas area are invited to attend. A complimentary lunch will be provided for the seminar in Weatherford only.
