Church-wide Prayer Leaders Conference Announced
“Building the Church as a House of Prayer for the Nations!” is the theme of the Local Church Prayer Leaders Conference to be held in Cleveland, Tennessee on April 8-9, 2011 at the Westmore Church of God.
Church of God General Overseer Dr. Raymond Culpepper has called prayer “our mission” and “our ministry,” declaring “if we are to evangelize, plant churches, disciple believers, raise up leaders, and preach the Gospel, we must pray. Let us teach prayer and preach prayer … as we pray, we will prevail.”
The conference will offer four plenary sessions and seven different learning tracks for prayer ministry training with more than forty workshops for pastors, prayer leaders, intercessors, a children-youth-family track, prayer evangelism, personal prayer models and prayer ministry resources.
Pastor Larry Stockstill, founder of Bethany World Prayer Center ,will be the kick-off speaker for the event. Pastor Stockstill’s recent book, Integrity, is a plea for authentic ministry in day of compromise. Dr. Tim Hill will address the event in behalf of the Church opf God Executive Committee on Friday night. Hill serves as first assistant general overseer and chair of the USA Missions division for the denomination.
Other special guests include John Maempa, director of prayer ministries for the Assemblies of God; Claude King, co-author of Experiencing God among many other books and leader in the international prayer effort. Dave Butts, chairman of the National Prayer Committee and his wife, Kim, will present workshops. Phil Miglioratti, chief operations officer for Mission America and founder of the National Pastor’s Prayer Network will be a speaker. Pierre Bynum of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. will also speak, as will Sarah Lowe, multi-state coordinator for the National Day of Prayer. Darcie Gill, who recently debriefed the U.S. State Department on the persecuted church around the world and has served as spokesmen for martyrs for more than a decade, will share as a representative of the Voice of Martyrs.
The conference will begin on Friday morning, April 8 at 10:00 AM and conclude on Saturday at Noon. The cost for the conference is $49.99 per person, a group of three from the same church for $99.99; and four or more for $129.99. Doug Small, coordinator of Prayer Ministries said, “The goal is to get multiple prayer leaders from a local church exposed to a variety of models and resources aimed at transforming their church into a house of prayer.”
