Call for Entries: Teacher of the Year

Pathway Press and the International minsitry of Youth and Discipleship are coordinating the annual Teacher of the Year nomination program in the Church of God.

Each Sunday, approximately 15 million teachers strive to fulfill Christ’s challenge, teaching, training, leading and discipling those students in their care. In order to give recognition, Any individual who is currently teaching and has taught Sunday school or any other Christian education/discipleship ministries program for a minimum of two years is eligible.

Many nominations were received in 2009 and the award was presented to team teachers, Marguerite Hindman and Mary Lou Sims of the Tremont Church of God in Greenville, South Carolina. On Christian Education Workers Appreciation Sunday, January 30, 2011, one exceptional Christian education teacher will again be announced at the 2010 Teacher of the Year for the Church of God.

Discipleship Coordinator Tony Lane, says, “This award provides the opportunity to give honor to very deserving individuals. The Church of God has many teachers who faithfully serve their churches through the ministry of teaching. The winning teacher will be given recognition in publications, and will receive a variety of awards, including a weekend get-away package in Gatlinburg, TN.”
