World Missions, Lee Partner During Missions Week
Beginning Monday, October 18, 2010, and continuing through Friday, October 22, Lee University, in conjunction with Church of God World Missions, will observe the annual Dee Lavender Lee Missions Week.
The Missions Week project for this year is supporting ministry in Abuja, Nigeria, and the theme is “Restore: Hope.” Students will target to raise funds to build a facility that could host a medical clinic, an educational facility, and/or a benevolence center for food or clothing. Matching funds have already been approved.
Chapel in the Conn Center on the Lee campus begins on Tuesday at 10:40 a.m. with special guest, Pastor Lane Lavender, the brother of Dee Lavender. Dee was a missions student at Lee University and was in Panama for an Intercultural Studies practicum. After being there for a short time, she became seriously ill and did not survive.
Alternative Chapel in the Dixon Center will be “Seek: Missional Lifestyle.” On Thursday at 10:40 a.m., the chapel service will be a “Celebration and Flag Service.”
