Cleveland, TN–The 2010-2012 Church of God International Executive Council (IEC), elected in July at the General Assembly in Orlando, is meeting in their first session this week at the International Offices.

The IEC meets at least three times per year, usually in Cleveland, Tennessee, at the international offices. The Council of 18, which is composed of pastors, state leaders and international representatives, is the governing body of ministers and leaders elected by, and to serve as representatives of, the General Council, the group of ordained bishops registered and in attendance at the general assembly. Together with the International Executive Committee, the group forms the International Executive Council. The Executive Committee, the five men who lead the denomination on a daily basis, consists of Raymond Culpepper, general overseer, Tim Hill, first assistant general overseer, Mark Williams, second assistant, David Griffis, third assistant and Wallace Sibley, secretary general. Members of the Executive Committee were also elected at the General Assembly in July.

Members of the Council of 18 are elected to a two-year term and are eligible for a second consecutive two-year term.
The IEC began their meeting on Tuesday and are scheduled to convene through the remainder of the week. The body of ordained bishops will discuss all aspects of the ministry of the Church of God, including budget, structure, events and programs. An agenda is presented by the Executive Committee which meets regularly.
