Member Testifies of ‘Priceless Resource’
Benny Cherian discovers the value of a Church of God CIMS program.
April 14, 2010, was the day I had the humbling experience of receiving the Church of God’s official Exhorter license in my name. That exhorter license was a result of almost one-and-a-half years of effort. However, even before receiving that license, I knew that it was not the end; in fact, it was just the beginning of a journey of a lifetime of learning and understanding.
It was this realization which prompted me to look through the Church Of God Web site for Bible schools and courses to give me further direction. That search led me to the Certificate In Ministerial Studies (CIMS)—an online program. Honestly, not having done any online courses prior to this made me very hesitant in opting for it. Ironically, though, it was this very online feature—sheer convenience and easy availability at any time of the day or night, plus the affordability of the courses—that finally ended my search.
The certification program that I started in January of this year, I finally finished in August. Four courses of doctrinal studies have given me an in-depth insight into the doctrines of the church and biblical doctrines such as the Holy Spirit and the Trinity, to name just a few. While these courses have familiarized me with the spiritual issues faced in modern-day living, they have also equipped me with the tool of knowledge to deal with these issues. This program has definitely strengthened me spiritually and given me the confidence to progress further in God’s ministry under His calling. Seeing the Church of God School of Ministry certificate in the mail two days ago further sealed my joy in the Lord.
