New Church Department Leadership Posts Announced

Cleveland, TN–Following any Church of God General Assembly there are changes in leadership, but following the most recent General Assembly re-structuring of some ministry areas also took place.

Faith News reported recently on the changes within the elected offices. The new Executive Committee of the Church of God consists of Raymond Culpepper, general overseer, Tim Hill, first assistant, mark Williams, second assistant, David Griffis, third assistant and Wallace Sibley, secretary general. Voted to serve as director and assistant director of Evangelism and Home Missions were Jimmy Smith and Larry Timmerman respectively. Thomas Madden and Gary Lewis were elected director and assistant director of youth and Christian education. Then in World Missions, the newly elected leaders were Douglas Leroy and Victor Pagan.

Highlighting the changes in other departments was the appointment of Jan Timmerman to serve as coordinator of women’s ministries. Peggy Culpepper is the new international president of women’s ministries, while Paula Hill, Sandra Kay Williams, Judy Griffis and Dorothy Sibley make up the advisory council for the department.

Elsewhere in the Division of Church Ministries, Randall Parris has been appointed coordinator of urban missions and leadership development for the Youth and Christian education department. He most recently completed service as youth and C.E. director of Northern Ohio.

In addition to the new director and assistant director of World Missions, several appointments and re-structures have taken place in the Division of World Evangelization. Appointed to serve as consultant for the America Ablaze church planting effort for the Church of God will be Orville Hagan, former assistant general overseer. In World Missions, five new field representatives were named in Terrell Brinson, Harold Downing, Charles Duncan, Jorge Giron and Harvey Turner, while Roland Vaughn was appointed a special assignment representative for unreached people groups. Dee Raff was named Office Manager for World Missions.

A new department was formed in World Evangelization with the merger of the former Ministry to the Military, Multi-Cultural Ministries and Romanian Territorial Office USA. The director of the new Military and Multi-Cultural Ministries Department is immediate past general overseer G. Dennis McGuire.

In the Division of Education, Dr. Paul L. Walker has been appointed to serve as director of local church development. Dr. Walker is a past general overseer and immediate past secretary general.

In addition to personnel and structural changes many appointments were made to boards and representative groups. Also, each division of the Church of God has been appointed a member of the Executive Committee as their liaison.
