Open Doors Goes HD Undercover
A new reality show is taking viewers to locations where Christians are suffering for their faith.
The show called Undercover with Persecuted Christians is produced by Open Doors USA. Dr. Carl Moeller, president of the ministry, serves as the host who meets with persecuted believers.
“In our first episode, for example, we have Iraqi Christian refugees who tell the story of being forced out of their country, literally at gunpoint…with threats, or even family members being killed before they leave,” he explains, adding that it shows “just how they are clinging to Christ in the midst of the deepest persecution.”
Dr. Moeller notes that as most of the work done through Open Doors is “primarily clandestine,” the show presents many challenges.
“We don’t even acknowledge that we work in most of the countries that we do work in, because it’s illegal [in those countries] for Open Doors to exist. In most of the places, it’s even illegal for churches to exist,” he reports. “It’s all shot in high definition, and it’s very professionally done, but it is done literally as we’ve said in the title — undercover.”
Undercover with Persecuted Christians will initially be broadcast on the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) channel and on the Cornerstone network.
