Church of God in Virginia Reaches out to Bangladesh
After reading a recent article on cogwm.org, the state of Virginia contacted Bangladeshi overseer Salmon Bose to discuss the area’s most pressing needs.
Praise God for His continued move in Bangladesh! We rejoice that the Gospel continues to impact lives, thanks to the faithful work of our brothers and sisters among the Bangladeshi people.
After reading a recent article on cogwm.org, the State of Virginia, contacted Bangladeshi overseer Salmon Bose to discuss the area’s most pressing needs. Under the direction of Administrative Bishop, Dr. Mike Baker, the State of Virginia adopted Bangladesh as it’s State Mission project more than five years ago. With the help of every local Church of God in Virginia, they have been able to raise funds to help Bangladesh in building their Bible school, as well as, many other ministries within the country.
How many students are at the Bible School at this time? When does the school year end?
There are twelve students. Although the school is blessed to have received some financial assistance, they are still in need of approximately $7,000 in order to help students complete their schooling through December 2010.
What kind of transportation do area pastors and evangelists need? What is the cost?
The evangelists in Bangladesh are still in need of approximately 20 bicycles, at a cost of $100 each. Additionally, there is one pastor in urgent need of a motorbike for transportation, at a cost of $1,500.
How soon could you purchase these bicycles if the funds are sent quickly?
They can be purchased as soon as the funds are received.
Additionally, Overseer Bose shares that the school is working to add dormitory housing for single female students. This involves adding a fifth floor to an existing building.
We are blessed to partner with Overseer Bose and Dr. Mike Baker and the State of Virginia in sharing the Gospel in Bangladesh, and we praise God these needs are evidence of His presence and His work among the Bangladeshi people.
