International Ministry Training Opportunities Announced
Each year for the past three years, the International Department of Youth and Christian Education has coordinated an international training event in Europe. Teams of pastors and local church leaders and staff have gone annually to conduct training at the European Theological Seminary, followed by training conferences in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Paris.
In 2009, there will be four International Training Events coordinated by the International Department of Youth and Christian Education. Pastors, Youth Pastors, Children’s Pastors, Worship Pastors, Discipleship Pastors and other church leaders are being invited to participate in one of this year’s training opportunities. The primary purpose of these trips is to resource the local churches and to provide much needed training and encouragement to local church leaders and workers for more effective ministry. This will be done through workshops, general sessions and through general church services. A variety of ministry opportunities will be available.
The scheduled trips for 2009 include the Philippines (February 2-9), Spain (March 17-24), Europe (February 9-16), and Chile (September 22-29). Also, in addition to the heavy ministry schedule there will also be time for some sight seeing. In the Philippines, the participants will conduct training at the Asian School of Ministries, followed by a conference in a local church for national leaders and workers. In Spain, the training will be coordinated through the local ETS Extension and will provide training for local church leaders and workers. The conference scheduled for Europe is intended to assist in further development and training for the ETS students, followed by training in another European city to be determined. In September, a trip is being planned to Chile, where training will be provided for local church leadership.
