15th Anniversary of the Church of God in Ukraine
UKRAINE — On September 9-11, 2008, the Church of God in Central Eastern Europe/CIS celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Church of God in the Ukraine. National Overseer Alexi Demidovich and Field Director Dieter Knospe led the ceremonies.
The host pastor was Dr. Sergiy Voznyuk of the church in Nova Kakhovka.
During the day the overseers, educational directors, and missionaries met for training and interaction. Each evening hundreds gathered for worship and listened to a presentation of the development of churches in the five regions where we now have 89 local congregations.
Evening speakers included National Overseer Alexi Demidovich, World Missions Director Douglas LeRoy, and Vice Overseer of Russia Pavel Abschin. Different choirs and musical groups led the people in the convention theme “Reaching Forward Through Thanksgiving.”
The annual leadership conference will meet in October 2009 in Hungary.
