Testimonies of the Effectiveness of Distance Learning

The Distance Learning Center (DLC) at the Landmark Church of God in Statesville, North Carolina, has had significant ministry over the years. The students are being trained in the Bible and doctrine, as well as being prepared for ministry.

Martha Dobson, the DLC coordinator, recently shared these testimonies from the DLC. First, during the past year, they have had seven, single-spaced typed pages of answered prayers from the prayer requests shared during the course, A Journey Through the Old Testament. Second, several years ago, Lester Lambert began to attend the Landmark Church of God CIMS program. His wife had passed away, and he was quite discouraged. Earlier this year, Lester and his new wife, Drema, were married during one of our CIMS classes. Recently, they shared the following testimony:

In December of 2009, our CIMS class prayed over the phone directory of Statesville, N.C. We used the phone book to represent our entire city. On March 19, 2010, Lester and Drema Lambert, along with Sister Eunice and Brother Louis, who work with the Mi Familia Ministries of Landmark, met with the Hispanic Youth Outreach where 17 teens gave their hearts to the Lord. These teens are gang members, teens in trouble with the law, and teens from abused homes. These teens are now being discipled and are inviting others to come see a place where “we found the love of God and where we are loved and wanted.” Thank God for pulling down the strongholds over our city as we, the church, cry out to God to save our city. This is only the beginning of what God is going to do! To God be all the glory!

The ministry that occurs through a DLC is amazing! When we study and prepare ourselves, God can use us.
