Preparations Continue Toward Indonesian Conference on Care

There are some exciting news and developments regarding the Indonesian Conference on Care.

“There are three basic things we desire to take place in Jakarta during March 15-18, 2010,” stated Division of Care Ministries director, Dr. Donnie Smith. “First, it is our desire to bring inspiration to the hearts and lives of individuals and ministers across Asia and challenge them to receive the anointing of God within them to reach out in benevolent care. Second, it is our hope that we will ignite the fire of the Holy Spirit in pastors there in Indonesia and perhaps around the world to realize the gifts and talents God has given them to reach the world’s most vulnerable victims of poverty and disease. And finally, we want to engage our global brothers and sisters in moving forward to do the work of the Lord during these last-day moments and times.”

According to Smith, it was announced that more than 7,000 ministers have registered to attend the Jakarta conference as of last week. The expectations are that some 10,000 will attend the day services, and evening services will swell to 12,000 or more in attendance.

“Each service is by invitation only; inasmuch as we will not be able to have a venue large enough to accommodate all who wish to attend,” Smith said.

Smith went on to say that Pastor Niko, missionary team Tommy and Poppi Smith, Care Board member Sudjono Halim and conference moderator Djohan Handojo, “have done a superb job in preparing for this event. There are more than 1,000 serving on committees who are working 24/7 to make this the best conference ever.” The conference will focus on the theme, Transformation for the Poor and Healing. The vision is that during this conference people from around the world will experience great transformation and receive miraculous healing.

Guest speakers include three members of the Church of God General Executive Committee, Dr. John Gregory of the Lazarus Foundation, the Care Division leadership team, and other church leaders from across the United States. In addition, there will be speakers from South Africa, South America, the Carribean, Cambodia and other Asian nations.
