A Tribute to Haitian Overseer Joseph

josephDr. James Beaty, professor emeritus at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, has penned a biographical tribute to the life and ministry of Elysée Joseph, overseer of the Church of God in Haiti who was killed in last week’s tragic earthquake.

Beaty has known Pasteur Joseph for over twelve years and taught him three courses in the MACM program at the Church of God Theological Seminary. The information in the following article draws on photocopies of Joseph’s application for Exhorter, Licensed Minister and Ordained Minister, his application to the Church of God Theological Seminary and the bio he wrote for Beaty at that time (1998).

Dr. Beaty has served the seminary of the Church of God for decades as a professor of New Testament and as vice president for academics. Since his retirement from full-time service, he has been honored with the prestigious title of professor emeritus.

The following link has been established which provides readers direct access to the manuscript in its original form, including footnotes and commentary from Dr. Beaty. To read the tribute, click here.
