Plans Finalized for FOCUS 2010 Conference
The 16th annual FOCUS Children’s Ministries Conference will be held March 4-6 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Greenville, South Carolina.
A full line-up of guest speakers, 32 workshops appealing to a wide variety of ministry areas, a track for Spanish-speaking leaders, a track for middle school ministry leaders, and many resource exhibitors will provide the opportunity for local church ministry leaders to be encouraged, trained, motivated, and inspired. A teacher training certification will also be offered to provide pastors the opportunity to send their teachers to learn more effective ways to teach and lead Bible study. Special guest speakers at FOCUS 2010 include Tammy Melchien, of Community Christian Church in Naperville, Illinois. She plays a role in New Thing Network, that has helped dozens of churches go multi-site. She is also a champion for kids’ ministries. Back by popular demand is Aaron Reynolds, of Willow Creek Community Church, an internationally recognized speaker and teacher trainer. The conference attendees will also enjoy Barry Mitchell, known as the entertaining encourager. Pam Andrews, known for her hands-on teaching methods, will be leading a track on children’s music. Leading worship and teaching on the importance of worship will be Tony Sutherland and KPY band, Worship Pastor at Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA under Pastor Jentezen Franklin. Middle School Ministry Leaders will enjoy a track of workshops lead by Patrick Ballington. Dee Bonilla, Church Ministries Director at Abundant Life Church in San Antonio, will lead the Hispanic Track.
