Come Celebrate With Us
You are invited to commemorate the centennial of missions in the Church of God, at a celebration held in Nassau, Bahamas, January 5-7, 2010. This will be the official denominational observation of the Centennial. Please consider this event a “Vacation with Purpose” and join us in Nassau.
The celebration is scheduled for three days, Tuesday evening until Thursday noon. Those who come for the celebration alone can arrive Tuesday and depart Thursday afternoon. Many visitors, however, may wish to add a few days, arriving earlier or leaving later, or both.
The Schedule
Celebratory services will be held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, as well as breakout sessions Wednesday and Thursday mornings. One of the breakout sessions will include a seminar for Local Missions Representatives.
Registration
Registration costs $25 for individuals or $40 for couples. To register for this celebration visit http://www.wmcentennial.org/index.php?page=registration.
The hotel and airline reservations must be made separately. For more information on acquiring a room at the hotel to be used during the celebration please visit http://www.wmcentennial.org/index.php?page=hotel. It is necessary to use the hotel’s Group Code to qualify for the convention room rate.
The Reason
The 100-year centennial is an once-in-a-lifetime celebration. It will also give you a personal experience with missions. Why will people spend money traveling to the Bahamas when more funds are always needed for World Missions? Most people plan an annual vacation, so we hope the Centennial Celebration will provide a wonderful opportunity. It is unlikely that vacation expenses ever become missions gifts. Further, a 100-year anniversary doesn’t come along often. This will be a grand possibility for us to commemorate the vision that has moved the Church of God into 181 nations/territories within the scope of a century and to clarify our vision for our future. We will celebrate our missions heritage and look ahead to our unlimited horizons.
Visit the Centennial website for more information and memories.
