Book-Gathering ‘Road Trip’ A Success
More than one-thousand pounds of books have been donated for Christians in the flood-stricken Philippines.
It was all part of an initiative by Christian Resources International, which embarked on a “road trip” to collect books so those in the flood-ravaged Philippines could benefit. The CRI Road Trip stopped at ten locations in Michigan and one in Ohio, collecting books and other resources.
CRI’s John Lowery explains why this particular campaign had a different twist.
“Normally we encourage folks to send their books in to us,” he shares, “but we got the idea that maybe it would be a good thing for the ministry — and be helpful to folks overseas who are so desperately seeking and waiting for books — [if] we would hit the road and make it a little more known what the need is. So we put this idea together.”
CRI staff will undertake several more road trips throughout the year to collect Christian books and resources for believers worldwide.
