Planning Continues for Great Commission Symposiums

Registration figures are rising daily as hundreds plan to attend one of two symposiums on the Great Commission.

The Symposium on The Great Commission will be convening in the east, September 14 and 15, at the Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta, Georgia, and in the west, September 17 and 18, 2009, at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California.

The Great Commission is the second of three initiatives that was proposed by General overseer Raymond F. Culpepper at the 2008 General Assembly. The three initiatives are Prayer, the Great Commission, and the Quest for Trust. The Prayer initiative is ongoing and continues to generate reports from around the world of how God is moving and people are being blessed through this initiative.

The symposiums will be a time to celebrate what God is doing in the Church of God around the world, share the vision for the future and set the course for our emphasis on the Great Commission. The program consists of hearing from General Overseer Culpepper, Pastor Nikko from Indonesia, Anna Diaz from Honduras, and Loran Livingston from Charlotte, N.C. Reinhard Bonnke was previously scheduled, however an injury and subsequent surgery on his knee has necessitated cancellation of his appointments. Please keep Reverend Bonnke in your prayers.

At the symposium, leaders will introduce and release the Great Commission Power-kit, which will help train and equip laity, pastors and leaders to fulfill the Great Commission.

The Church of God Executive Committee encourages everyone to register for the conference if you have not already done so. The cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple. To find out more about the conference, resources that will be available, and to register and learn about accommodations, visit the Church of God Web page and click on the symposium icon.
