Theme Announced for Children’s Emphasis Day
The Church of God International Department of Youth and Christian Education announces the theme for the annual International Children’s Emphasis Day, suggested for Sunday, August 30, 2009.
Each year, a program is written by a Children’s Pastor and offered as a resource with suggestions for local church leaders to use in emphasizing children’s ministry, recognizing children’s ministry workers, and elevating children’s ministry in the church and community. The theme this year will coordinate with the church wide Great Commission Emphasis.
The program is titled Building Great Commission Kids. Children’s Minister Lynn Miller wrote the program and it is available at no cost by visiting ycechurchofgod.org. Churches are encouraged each year to plan to emphasize children and children’s ministry on the last Sunday of August.
