Registration Continues for Symposium Events

A second hotel has been added in Atlanta to accommodate delegates who are registering for the Symposium on the Great Commission.

The Atlanta event, being called Symposium East, is scheduled for September 14 and 15 at the Mount Paran Church of God. It is one of two scheduled for opposite ends of the country. On September 17 and 18, a second symposium, Symposium West, will be conducted at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, Calif.

At the 2008 Church of God International General Assembly, General Overseer Dr. Raymond Culpepper called the church to three core initiatives. One of these is how the church can rally to a new engaging vision of the Great Commission. An integral part of this initiative will be the convening of these two Great Commission Symposiums—East and West.

“The glue that binds believers together in changing times is the Great Commission given directly by Christ,” Culpepper stated. “ It is about not being just ‘mission-minded’ but about being ‘missional’; it is about engaging the divine directive. This directive of Christ is the missional mandate of the church.”

The keynote speaker for both East and west will be internationally-known evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. Other speakers slated are pastor of the largest Church of God congregation in the world, Niko Njotorahardjo of Indonesia, Charlotte Central Church pastor Loran Livingston and Ana Diaz, founder and principal pastor of the 6,000-member Oasis of Love in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Complete bios on speakers, program schedule, downloadable resources, registration information and hotel accommodation information is available on the Church of God Web site at www.churchofgod.org. Because of the high volume of reservations, a second host hotel has been added in Atlanta. Both the Waverly Hotel and Marriott-Renaissance are located near the venue. Potential delegates are encouraged to register, as well as book hotel accommodations on the Web site. Registration forms can be e-mailed or downloaded for print. Guests can access the site to book, modify, or cancel a reservation from June 26, 2009 to September 18, 2009.
