Church of God Partners with ARC

The Association of Related Churches (ARC) met with the Church of God on June 2, 2009 in Birmingham, Alabama, where the two forged a partnership of planting churches and assisting church planters.

The announcement came from America Ablaze consultant, Dr. Orville Hagan, who gathered in Birmingham with General Overseer Dr. Raymond Culpepper, First Assistant General Overseer Dr. Tim Hill and Michael Knight, director of the National Church Planting Office (NCPO) in Kentucky. The delegation met with Billy Hornsby, president and executive director of ARC.

“ARC was established to help church planters launch a new church by providing leadership, resources, training and coaching,” Hagan stated. “ ARC has planted more than 100 life-giving churches in 29 states.” He went on to say that other churches and ministries with the same vision have partnered with ARC in planting churches. ARC, America Ablaze and the Church of God NCPO will meet together in the future to discuss Church Planters’ assessments and resources as well as coaching.

Assistant General Overseer Tim Hill said, “This meeting was very productive and will open up a whole new avenue of support and resources for our church planters and church planting initiative.”

According to their Web site (www.relatedchurches.org), the Association of Related Churches brings together people with a passion for planting and growing life-giving churches. They are comprised of a Board of Directors that oversees a larger membership of churches which partner with ARC to financially and personally support the growth of new ARC church plants.
