Seminary Singers Complete Easter Tour
Singers from the Church of God’s European Theological Seminary (ETS) in Kneibis, Germany recently returned from their annual Easter Tour. This year they traveled to Croatia and Serbia. In Serbia they celebrate Easter one week later than we do in Germany, soo we actually had two Good Friday services and two Easter Sunday services this year.
By Benson and Kathy Vaughan
On Friday 17 April, the ETS Singers ministered in Vinkovci, Croatia. The marble floors allowed the acoustics to be perfect for a cappella singing. As the group came down the side aisles singing “Lead Me Lord” in Croatian, the anointing of the Holy Spirit immediately settled upon the packed house, and the rest of the service was a blessing to everyone in attendance. On Saturday, the ETS Singers traveled to Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, to minister in a rented wedding hall. The music, drama, and message were again anointed by the Holy Spirit. Benson and Cathy preached under a heavy anointing. Seven people responded to the altar call and gave their hearts to the Lord. The Lord especially anointed the group to pray for two women; one had heart problems, and the other had just been diagnosed with cancer. Both women testified that they had been ‘built up’ in their spirit and encouraged by the Lord. On Sunday the group traveled to Bela Crkva (white church), where the Lord again placed a special anointing upon our efforts. When the altar call was given, many people responded. During the prayer time, people lined up from the front door all the way to the back door. The Lord really touched many people that day.
A very important part of the tour has been the practical ministry. We went to a youth camp in Vrdnik, Serbia, where the group labored and prepared the camp for a busy summer. The group completed the following activities: mowed the grass, cleaned the floors, painted the fence, cleaned the basketball court from grass and debris, etc. At the end of our work session, everyone was tired but very fulfilled with the work they had accomplished.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the group ministered in Beograd and Jagodina. In both cities, the churches rented a movie theatre, and the Lord blessed our efforts. Although we were told to be ‘gentle’ with the evangelism, people still responded to the ‘soft’ altar call, and gave their hearts to the Lord. The ETS Singers went to be a blessing, and came away feeling as though they received much more than they had given. More than forty people gave their hearts to the Lord on this tour. Praise the Lord for His precious anointing upon our annual ETS Easter Tours. Benson and Cathy are now in their tenth year serving at European Theological Seminary in Germany. Please continue to pray that God will bless their efforts as they train young men and women for ministry throughout Europe.
Benson and Cathy Vaughan are missionary teachers at ETS.
