Answered Prayers in Jamaica

I recently returned from Jamaica, where we began construction on a new church building. It is located about two hours out of Kingston, in a place called Cross Keys. The church had been destroyed by a hurricane last year.

The church family put up a temporary structure, and another storm took it down. They have been worshiping in an old tent since last August. The Pastor gathered as many of his people as he could and they all met every Wednesday for over a year, fasting and praying for God to send them help. That help came in the form of a 19-member team from the USA.

We poured the floor and laid up about 60 percent of the blocks on the new church. This was a great team, with members coming from Florida and Alabama.

One of the ladies on the team summed up our feelings. She wrote, “Dear Brother Hanks, thanks for allowing me to go with the team to Jamaica. I have received many answers to prayers, but I have never ‘been’ the answer to someone else’s prayer. It feels so good!”

It does feel good to be a part of answered prayers, and World Missions!
