Organizations Partner in TOOLS Conference
The Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.) and the Church of the Living God, an organization with headquarters in Winston-Salem, N.C., recently conducted a conference together called TOOLS – Training Our Own Leaders for pastors, lay leaders, youth and music workers.

Church of God Assistant General Overseer Dr. Tim Hill has been in contact with Donnie Robinette, General Overseer of The Church of the Living God for several years. Hill has preached in their annual General Assembly and noticing that this fellowship had limited resources, and in a conversation with Bishop Robinette last year, volunteered the Church of God to assist in the TOOLS conference.
Hill asked Dr. Dwain Pyeatt, International Coordinator for Ministerial Development/School of Ministry), to coordinate with Overseer Robinette and other leaders with The Church of the Living God. After several months of planning, an exciting program was prepared to enhance vision and knowledge of Christian education leaders and pastoral leaders. Congregations and leaders in both The Church of the Living God and the Church of God in the western North Carolina and southern Virginia regions participated. Pathway Press provided a book table and Christian education resources.
Guests during the two-day event included speakers from both denominations. Dr. T.L. Lowery presented a message of involvement and leadership. Bishop Jerry Chitwood, administrative bishop for the Church of God in western North Carolina, presented a message entitled Hosting God, and special music worship leadership was provided by the Riveroak Celebration Choir from Danville, Va. Other presenters included Eddie Wilson, Melvin Shuler and Dwain Pyeatt. Tim Hill closed the conference Saturday afternoon with an inspiring message.
Overseer Robinette and the leaders of The Church of the Living God expressed their profound gratitude for the sacrificial efforts and financial offerings from the Church of God for this meeting.
