Hundreds Attend KidFest Event

Nearly 700 children and adults traveled from New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas to attend Frontier Kidfest 2009.

The Westin Hotel in Irving, Texas became a haven for children’s ministry groups lead by children’s pastors, children’s ministry leaders and chaperones. Four dynamic children’s services were held over the weekend, beginning on Friday evening. Together in the hotel, the groups had opportunity for living, playing, and worshipping together throughout the weekend.

Pastor Kevin McHann and His Word Studio ministry team lead the children to God through a variety of skits, music, games and exploration of the Word of God. Burnin’ Bush took the attention of the children and turned it towards God. Compel Ministry Team, from the Paris Church of God in Paris, Texas, ministered through puppets and sticks movement. Mission Texas served throughout the weekend. On Saturday night, 40 plus children and adults were baptized with the Holy Spirit as the wave of His presence blew across the ballroom.

Ride the Wave is the Kidfest ’09 theme. There are three additional Kidfest events sponsored by the Church of God International Department of Youth and Christian Education. Next on the agenda is Carolina Kidfest to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 24-26, followed by Midwest Kidfest in Mason, Ohio on May 1-3 and Smoky Mt. Kidfest in Gatlinburg, TN on May 15-17. For more information, call 423-478-7229 or go to www.mykidfest.com.
