Lee Holds Successful Recruitment Weekend

“Lee Day,” Lee University’s most intensive recruitment event, was held this past weekend April 3 and 4 on the Cleveland, Tennessee campus.

The 30-hour event, filled with entertainment and excitement, provided prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore life at Lee through club events, music, drama, sports and academics, while also receiving vital information regarding admissions and financial aid. Lee Day provides prospective students with campus tours, special luncheons and advanced class selection for students planning to attend Lee.

The internationally-renowned music program of Lee University displayed a variety of Lee’s ensembles through the annual Music Festival on Friday. The event featured the Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Strings, the Festival Choir and Orchestra. Audiences also heard The Voices of Lee, Lee Singers, Campus Choir, Choral Union and Evangelistic Singers. For students interested in becoming musicians, “The Making of Champions” Teen Talent Master Class was taught by Lee’s music faculty on Saturday.
Lee’s drama department performed the spring production, Oscar Wilde’s “An Ideal Husband” on Friday and Saturday. Guests also visited the new black box theatre and met drama majors and professors in the Edna Minor Conn Theatre.

Lee’s annual “Incredi-Bash” was held as the kick-off to Friday’s evening events. It included music, games and food with students from Lee’s various clubs. Saturday’s cookout in Alumni Park was another great opportunity for prospective students and their families to fellowship with other attendees and individuals from Lee.

Special luncheons were held on Saturday for sophomore, junior and senior high school students who attended Lee Day. A separate informative session and luncheon was hosted for transfer and graduate students , and parents also had the opportunity to enjoy lunch, provided by Lee, while taking part in “Parent’s Inside Track.” This question and answer session gave parents the opportunity to meet Lee University President Paul Conn and Financial Aid staff, allowing parents to receive in-depth information on financial aid opportunities at Lee.

Through “A Touch of Class” on Friday at 3p.m., prospective students and parents caught a glimpse inside the classroom by sitting in on sample lectures from some of Lee’s professors. “Major Discovery” allowed students to learn about the different majors offered at Lee through engaging in conversations with Lee faculty and students.

Lee’s nationally-ranked athletic programs were also part of the weekend including a Lady Flames softball game followed by a Lee Flames baseball game. The men’s and women’s tennis teams also played matches. A “Meet the Coaches” all-sports carousel allowed prospective athletes the opportunity to meet Lee’s coaching staff and receive information about programs offered.

All events were free to Lee Day guests.
