Christ’s Birthday Offering Touch the Lives of Many
In cases of emergency, such as a hurricane devastating an island, a community torn apart by war, a missionary child needing immediate hospitalization, Christ’s Birthday Offering provides critically needed help.
Our churches in Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic were recently hit by hurricanes and destroyed. Many of these and other buildings must be rebuilt. Christ’s Birthday Offering will provide funds to our people recover from the devastating hit.
Where does money for such unbudgeted but necessary expenditures come from? Each year at Christmas, World Missions asks Church of God families to add Christ to their gift list and send an offering in the amount of the year (this year, $20.08), which is gathered and set aside for emergency and unforeseen missions-related needs.
This amount is not such a great amount to most of us therefore we may have a tendency to ignore the request. But once you put everyone’s gift together it can truly touch the lives of many.
