Music Ministries Names Lamb Distinguished Musician of the Year
Joni Lamb of the Daystar Television Network was presented the coveted Distinguished Musician of the Year award during ceremonies conducted at Music Explosion 2009 in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Dr. Delton Alford, director of Church of God Music Ministries announced the award on March 6 during the 24th annual Music Explosion Conference. The award was presented to Lamb in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Christian music and music ministry, specifically referencing her role in effectively modeling music and worship with her group, The Daystar Singers. Her heritage in church music as well as her involvement in television broadcasting exceeds 20 years of service. Joni began her musical career singing in a local Church of God church and it has now expanded into an influential, international television and recording ministry.
The Daystar Television Network airs programming which includes Celebration, an hour-long daily talk show hosted by Daystar founders, Marcus and Joni Lamb. The show includes performances by Joni and the “Daystar Singers” as well as visiting Christian singers or bands. Joni also interviews Christian leaders and musicians. She also hosts her own half-hour talk show titled Joni. Joni has recorded CDs with the DayStar group and has recently authored a bestselling book Surrender All.
