Seminary Announces Missions Week

“Global Pentecostalism and the Challenges of the 21st Century” is the theme for the annual event set for the Church of God Theological Seminary later this month.

Land, President of the Seminary, has scheduled special seminary chapel services on Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 2 to mark the annual “Missions Week” international world missions emphasis. This year’s theme and presentations will focus on “Global Pentecostalism and The Challenges of the 21st Century.” Dr. and Mrs. Grant McClung are the invited resource team.

Grant and Janice McClung are veteran missionaries and have had extensive experience with the Church of God Theological Seminary as missions trainers and mobilizers. Dr. McClung is the President/CEO of Missions Resource Group, a world missions resourcing ministry that provides training, consulting, and mentoring to the global Great Commission community (www.MissionsResourceGroup.org). McClung also serves as an Adjunct Professor of World Missions & Evangelism at the seminary and at-large in missionary education for Church of God World Missions. He is a member of the International Executive Council of the Church of God.

A prolific world missions author, McClung is an Advisory Editor for Christianity Today magazine and is a member of the Editorial/Advisory Committee of EMIS (Evangelism and Missions Information Service), a ministry extension of the Billy Graham Center in Wheaton, Illinois. He serves on the Executive Board of The Mission Exchange (formerly EFMA) and the World Missions Commission of the Pentecostal World Fellowship. He is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary School of Intercultural Studies where he was awarded the David Yonggi Cho Church Growth Award for his research and publication on global Pentecostalism.

The McClungs began their ministry as pastors in California. They are advocates for the primary role of the local church in world evangelization. Janice McClung is a musician, composer, and prayer leader who was called to missionary service as a child during the visit of missionaries to her local church in Florida. During the McClung’s missionary term in Germany, she pioneered local church and Bible college music ministries and child evangelism outreaches through the European Theological Seminary. A noted conference and local church resource in the area of intercessory prayer and women’s ministries, she is the leader of the Westmore Church of God World Missions prayer group, a weekly intercessory prayer ministry for nations, national leaders, and missionary personnel.
