Global Worship Initiative Announces ‘Instruments of Grace’

Cleveland, TN– Global Worship Initiative, the music ministries arm of the Church of God, recently announced the launch of “Instruments of Grace,” a nonprofit project to provide musical instruments and opportunities for underprivileged children.

Dr. Dusty Wilson, director of GWI, stated Instruments of Grace will focus on providing instruments to ministries associated with orphanages, rehab centers, and schools.

“This initiative believes in the transformative power of music to inspire, heal, and uplift,” Wilson said. “By offering underprivileged children access to musical instruments, our aim is to unlock their creative potential, foster emotional expression, and build communities through the joy of music.” Wilson went on to say the goal is not only to supply instruments but also to offer hope through music classes, training programs, and performances led by church volunteers and partnering organizations.

Speaking of the mission and vision of the initiative, Wilson said, “Through this program, we hope to create lasting change in the next generation and raise up the Global Worship Initiative by providing underprivileged children the necessary tools with Instruments of Grace for personal development, building self-esteem, fostering hope for their future, and allowing them the opportunity to serve the Lord through music.” The Vision Statement is to provide, “A world where every child, regardless of circumstance, has access to music as a source of joy, hope, and growth.”

In formulating the program, GWI discovered that in many communities, children in low-income households, orphanages and other institutions face limited access to creative outlets and enrichment activities.

“Musical instruments are often costly, and access to lessons is a privilege that many simply cannot afford due to other priorities and practical necessities in life,” Wilson said. “This lack of opportunity restricts children’s emotional development, limits their exposure to arts and culture, and reduces their chances to discover hidden talents, build confidence and provide hope for their future.”

Instruments of Grace accepts the challenge by, 1) donating new and refurbished instruments where children are in need and lack musical opportunities to advance; 2) offering music lessons through volunteer musicians either in person or virtually for up to one year; 3) hosting community events where children will perform at churches and community gatherings, building confidence and a sense of belonging; and 4) developing peer mentorship fostering leadership and accountability.

GWI’s initial target beneficiaries associated with the Church of God include the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, Heart of Florida Youth Ranch, Peniel Ministries, Redemption Point School in Ooltewah, Tennessee, and a church plant in Tokyo Japan.
