Accepting Jesus

The past year has been a thoroughly encouraging time for the Argenteuil Church of God. The key word is still “growth.” We have seen the salvation of two 16 year-old young ladies: Marie-Ange and Cindy and a young man, Stanley, all three attending church regularly.

Recently, there are other people who are beginning to attend church more and they are rededicating their lives to the Lord. There is Roselaure, Roseline and her two kids, Edmonde and her two kids and we have received a new family of five: the M’Pessas and another man named Paul who recently began to show interest in our church. He’s attending regularly now and seems to want to rededicate his life to the Lord. We are meeting with an average of 48 adults plus about 20 kids.

There is one particular event which marked the beginning of the year 2009 as a year of fruition for us. Three months ago, we had the funeral for a 26 year-old man newly saved in our church whose name was Michelet. That funeral turned out to be one of the most unexpected evangelism outreach events for our local church. The Holy Spirit gave me the right words that touched the heart’s of a crowd of almost 200.

As a result, in a recent church service, we marveled at one of the most special blessings God has ever given to this church. At the end of the service when I gave an altar call, one young man raised up his hand and began to tremble when I asked the question: Is it that you want to accept Jesus into your heart? He said, “Yes, that’s why I am here, because three months ago when I attended the funeral service, I discovered this church. Now I know that I want to give myself to God.”
