Lee University Rises Again in U.S. News Best College Ranking

Cleveland, TN–Lee University has been ranked once again in the upper tier of Southern universities in the 2023 U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges.

Lee ranked #23 this year, moving up four spots from last year within the top 50 “Best Regional Universities ¬– South” category, which includes both public and private universities.

“We are of course pleased with the results of this year’s rankings from U.S. News,” said Lee President Mark Walker. “It’s once again an affirmation of the quality we all strive to produce for our students here at Lee.”

In addition to the main ranking, Lee appears in three specialty rankings. These include “Most Innovative Schools,” the “Best Value” listing, and “Undergraduate Teaching,” which are all subsections within the “Regional Universities – South” category.

The 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings were calculated using 17 key measures of academic quality. Combined with expert opinions from other schools and input measures that reflect the quality of students, faculty, and other resources used in undergraduate education, the outcome captures the results of the education a student receives at the institution.

“For nearly 40 years, the Best Colleges methodology has continuously evolved to reflect changes in the higher education landscape and the interests of prospective students,” said Kim Castro, editor and chief content officer at U.S. News. “Guiding that evolution is U.S. News’ mission of providing useful data and information to help with one of life’s biggest decisions.”
