Bible Campaign Seeks More Young Souls

By Ed Thomas, OneNewsNow.com The evangelist who instigated an annual free Bible giveaway campaign six years ago says he’s still counting the number requested this year in hopes of drawing more teens into a relationship with Jesus.

Revival Fires International says this year’s week-long Truth for Youth Bible campaign, which annually offers free Bibles to teenagers who will give them to an unsaved friend in school, packed and shipped over 48,000 copies through mid-day Monday in response to phone and online requests during last week’s campaign.

The goal of the sixth annual giveaway was 60,000 Bibles. The Truth for Youth Bible includes a New Testament in the “God’s Word” translation; 100 pages of color comics with stories addressing issues such as evolution, homosexuality, and abortion; and a list of legal student rights on public campuses.

Revival Fires president Evangelist Tim Todd says this year’s distribution is not finished yet, as the ministry would like to break last year’s mark of 55,000 Bibles. “We are still continuing to take orders from teenagers as well as parents and grandparents,” he explains. “We’re going to keep the project going until we reach the 60,000 mark.”

Todd says it is not about the numbers, but building the kingdom of God and bringing souls of young people into that kingdom — citing over 700 decision coupons from the Truth for Youth Bibles which were mailed into the ministry from teenagers reading the Bibles last year.
